I’m 36 years old from Griffith NSW. I’ve lost 30kg
I’ve always been overweight, right from primary school. Even though I was generally a healthy eater, I would find snacking – usually on the wrong foods – an easy option. At the start of 2020, I was 120kg and needed to change some habits.
I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror or in photographs. I’d always try and “hide” myself away or try some other little tricks to minimise the size of my stomach, chest and chin. To sum it up – I was embarrassed by the way I looked.
I wanted to look and feel better about myself. I have 3 active children and an active wife and I wanted to keep up with them. I love spending time with them out exercising, playing or coaching sports or at the gym.
Starting The Man Shake was really enjoyable. I used the Thermomix to blend my shake with cold water and ice. Coffee is my favourite, closely followed by Hazelnut and Banana, but I enjoy mixing flavours as well.
Vanilla, strawberry and chocolate make a great Neapolitan and I also on occasion enjoy vanilla with some real banana, cinnamon and honey.
Nothing really. I would always eat reasonably healthily (bar the Achilles heal of snacking) but was lacking in physical activity too.
Starting on The Man Shake helped me find the motivation to improve both those areas of my lifestyle.
Honestly, I feel great, Like a new person. I am also snoring less and have much more energy and love going to the gym, walking, mountain bike riding and coaching and playing soccer and Futsal.
People I haven’t seen for a while are telling me how great I look.
I think just coming to the realisation that no one could do anything about it but myself, It was up to me.
If I wanted to be fitter and healthier I was the one who had to do something about it. I also spoke to a friend who recommended the Man Shake as it had helped him lose 20kg.
The next day I ordered a variety pack (which I think is a great way to begin for those who are considering it) and away I went! The Man Shake Men Facebook group is also brilliant for support and motivation.
It is a very simple thing to do. I make my breakfast and lunch shake at the same time and, depending on what time I leave for work, often drink one in the car and then keep the other one in the fridge at work and I’m now more conscious of my snacking as well.
While I am not as strict as some others here, I definitely have more self-control now because I have the mindset that I’m just cheating myself if I have that chocolate bar or packet of chips.
I still allow myself to enjoy those things on occasions, just not regularly and certainly in moderation.
I would recommend The Man Shake to anyone considering losing some fat. It is a change in mindset more than anything. It is about being more aware of what is going in your body and also setting little movement/exercise challenges helps too.
100% I will be continuing with The Man Shake. I enjoy the shake for breakfast and will continue that. I would like to lose a few more kilograms, but I will alternate between salads and shakes for lunches once I drop those last few kilos.
Just do it! Don’t put it off. Don’t say you’ll start tomorrow or start next week.
Do it today. You won’t regret it.
