David Lost 7kgs To Become A Hero
Share
Hey, I’m David and I had used the Man Shake on and off for a while but it wasn’t until 2022 when I realised I needed it more than I ever thought I would.
I had the idea of purchasing a superhero uniform to visit sick kids and help families smile in tough times. I have always loved Spider-Man so much, and I related to Peter Parker more as an adult, so getting myself the uniform of the Friendly Neighbourhood Web-Slinger was a must. From here I got my local community together and shared my idea.
It was amazing and they were all in! Together we raised enough money to get myself a film-quality Spidey suit and I stuck to my promise of using it for good and still do to this very day. Creating my very own Party Super Hero Hire business named Illawarra’s Friendly Neighbourhood Spidey. As they say, with great power comes great responsibility.
Very quickly other heroes caught wind of the idea and before long we began building our own Avengers. Currently, we are 6 supes strong with more assembling soon.
We hopefully brighten up our local Illawarra community in Wollongong and Shellharbour NSW. Charity events and fundraising are our main goals, but staying fit and strong and attending parties and events makes us feel just as good.
"The joys of spandex..."
But here’s where The Man Shake came into it.
When I got my first suit in 2022 I was just turning 40, had just finished up on the rail lines for Sydney Trains and that was a lot of sitting around and eating junk. The suit I got was great, but it made me feel super overweight when it came to tight Spandex. I’m not a big-framed guy, but I did weigh about 77/78 Kilos and my small belly definitely protruded in the suit, especially when bending down to say hi to the children. The joys of spandex, it just hugs in all the wrong places.
I wanted to change and change fast. So, I took up the gym 3 times a week and around mid-2023 I began my Man Shake Journey. I started by replacing my breakfast every day and saying goodbye to the bacon and egg rolls and hash browns.
Mixed with my strength training, I quickly realised a difference in not only my energy levels but my stomach area. I was toning up and feeling good. By making a small sacrifice with a great alternative meal replacement, that was super easy to use or take with me and make on the go, I was getting the results I wanted.
That’s the secret, Cap. If it’s easy, you’ll stick to it. The moment something becomes too hard (food-wise), it usually doesn’t make sense to stick with it and you fall back into your old routines. Thankfully The Man Shake was easier than the McDonalds drive-thru!
My favourite flavour is definitely Banana. It gets even better when I mix it up with Peanut Protein Powder. My second fave is Strawberry and is great when mixed with fruit like berries, strawberries or even a banana. When I place my order, these two are my easy picks but, honestly, I never have too much money to spend so I normally just buy one pack and one flavour for the month till that’s gone.
"I feel sensational!"
As of August 2024, I had lost roughly 7.5 Kilos and I’m continuing to slowly lose more while also gaining muscle and toning. I know for many that isn’t a lot of weight. But for me and my smaller build, it’s a spectacular achievement!
I feel sensational!
I finally feel like I’m fitting comfortably into my Spidey costume better and I’m able to do handstands and other neat tricks now I have less weight in my gut.
If you’re like me and want to dress to impress, or have a less bloated gut, it’s definitely the way to go.
Just find the best time of day for you, whether it’s morning, lunch or evening, to replace that one big meal with a Shake. You won’t regret it.
