Low-Calorie Alcoholic Drinks That Aren't Beer

While beer may be the most popular drink for blokes on a night out, not every man loves the old hops and barley brew. Knowing this, we have compiled this list of low-cal alcoholic drinks for blokes who don’t like beer.

Vodka Soda

A clear drink for a (relatively) clear conscience. With just 133 calories per 255ml serving, this classic mixed drink is one of the lowest-calorie alcoholic drinks you can order at the pub. To add some extra flavour, mix in some cucumber, mint or a slice of lemon or lime.

Tequila & Lime

Despite having the reputation of a potent spirit, tequila is quite low on calories. If you were to take of shot of tequila with a lime wedge, you’d only be consuming 99 calories. If you need a chaser, try mixing it with soda or water.

Hard Seltzer

This appears to be the new trendy drink and with good reason. It’s quite refreshing and contains very few calories. Made with seltzer water and fermented cane sugar, hard seltzer comes in a variety of flavours. The calorie content will vary from brand to brand, so do some research before you pick your poison.

White Wine

Fancy a cup of chilled alcoholic grape juice? Good news, white wine is relatively light on calories. With just 123 calories per 150ml serving, this is one good option for blokes looking to lose their love handles.

Dry Martini

Made with 70ml of gin and 51ml of vermouth, a dry martini contains 185 calories and is a better choice than a classic martini, which contains more vermouth and less gin. To add a bit of additional flavour, order it with a splash of orange bitters or a wedge of lemon.

So, there you have it, a list of low-calorie alternatives to beer. That said, if you do fancy beer, we have compiled a list of healthy beers too. Check them out here.
